Finally, my first blog post, and it only took me three years! I wanted to start out with a simple a fun post: my January favorites! From food to fashion, this past January brought so many new things into my life that I am absolutely LOVING.
I am obsessed with two new products from Sunday Riley.
The first is the C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum. This stuff is NO joke. The lady that was helping me at Sephora said it is the most concentrated Vitamin C serum out there and based on the results I have seen I do not doubt it. This serum has noticeably brightened my skin and helped with some stubborn acne scars I have had since taking accutane.
The second is the Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil. The scent is to die for, seriously. The oil seeps into the skin so nicely and you wake up glowing. The overall appearance and texture of my skin has improved immensely from these two products.
You can find both of these products at Sephora and one on Amazon.
For MLK Jr. weekend, my friends and I went and stayed in San Diego. One of my friends Nicolina was nice enough to let us stay at her house and hangout with her family (they are some of the best people I have ever met might I add). Her mom made sure we never went hungry and constantly had snacks and food out for us (an angel). She introduced us to the Three Layer Hummus from Trader Joe’s. This hummus changed my life. I am already a hummus fanatic, so you can only imagine how excited I was. The hummus consists of traditional, cilantro jalapeño, and spicy all stacked together in perfect harmony. An absolute must try.
I have been living in my adidas Originals Women’s Vocal Crop Hoodie in Light Grey Heather. My mom gave me this sweatshirt for Christmas and I wear it…. way too often to say the least. It is the perfect sweatshirt to throw on to be comfortable, but still stylish. You can find it on Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Amazon.
Another clothing item my mom gave me for Christmas is a pair of the UGG Coquette slippers in Chestnut. I know I go to school in Los Angeles so I shouldn’t be complaining about the winter, but it has been pretty cold down here! I love wearing these slippers around my apartment, running errands, and sometimes even out and about (oops!).
Last year at the start of 2019, I started a new habit. I made a new playlist for every month of the year. This challenged me to continuously discover new music and rediscover old music I might have forgotten about. Each monthly playlist is a combination of new and old music from every genre. My January 2020 playlist is full of so many of my new favorites (BROCKHAMPTON’s new album, Roddy Rich’s new album, DaBaby) and some of my old favorites (Topanga-Trippie Redd, Lost Me-Mike Stud, EARFQUAKE-Tyler, The Creator)

One thing I do not take advantage of as much as I should is the beach. UCLA is only a 15 minute drive from Santa Monica, yet I rarely seem to make it to the beach. This quarter I have made it a point to try and get to the beach at least once a week. My roommates and I have gone on sunset beach walks, I have gone on beach runs, and last weekend I went to the beach to tan and relax with a few friends. Small outings like this to such a beautiful place really helps me escape the stress of school and clear my head for a little. I definitely want to make this habit last and integrate it into my schedule for the rest of the year!
And there you have it, my January favorites! I hope you enjoyed this first post, and I will be posting much more often now; no more three year increments anymore, woohoo!
